Welcome home snow birds! Hope all down south had a good winter like we did up north. The news letter was delayed one month due to election being held April 15 2012 American Legion 2012/2013 Officers Commander- Ron McCanham Adj.- Jerry Chambers Finance officer- Lou Bautko Senior Vice- Larry Nason Junior Vice- Mike Griffith Sgt. Poppy Days May 18th & 19th need volunteers, sign up sheets at the Pines Members Please if you pay your dues by credit card or on line we need to see a receipt, Lansing will not let us know. NOTICE - Dues have increased to $35.00 if paid after Nov 11th. $30.00 if paid before on Early Bird plan . If your dues have not been paid this is the last newsletter you will receive. Don't forget Memorial Day May 28th ,2012. Meet at the Main Hall at 8:30 a.m. Parade to follow at 11:00 a.m. Please bring a dish to pass for the Memorial Day luncheon which will be held at the Pines following the parade. At our next meeting May 20th 2012 we will be having a discussion about the main Hall. For the past few years we have been losing money trying to keep it " A FLOAT" . We will entertain Ideas from our membership of what are next steps will be. Thanks to all for their help prior to Raster, Easter Egg preparation, coloring, Easter Egg hunt ETC. A special thank you goes out to our Easter Bunny for his time and effort. Patriots Run and Peck days are scheduled for June 2nd ,2012. The raffle for the Gator will take place that same day at 6:00p.m. . Please sell all the Gator 4-wheeler tickets that you possibly can. In closing I would like to thank our Auxiliary and SAL for their Support and kind generosity. Please check & read your calendars for meetings and upcoming dates. Thank you to everyone who makes our pasty sales a success again this year. Memorial Day parade will be held May 28th @ 11:00a.m. those wishing to participate should meet at the main hall at 10:00 a.m.. There will be cars available for those of you who would rather ride. Please come out and honor our veterans, past and present. A luncheon will follow at the Pines following the parade. Please bring a dish to pass. During Peck Village Days the Auxiliary will have the kitchen at the main hall open. In addition to the kitchen being open we will have a bake sale and another table with reida cutlery, coozies and cookbooks etc. for sale. We need help and baked goods. I will put a work sheet up at the Pines for people to sign. Wishing all of you a happy and safe 4th of July! A.L.R. NEWSPECK AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS, POST 489Our May meeting will be on the 3rd of the month at 6:30 p.m. We will be talking about the clean up of camping area and Patriots run in June. Also reminding members of Memorial Day, hope to have a lot of bikes this year let's make a special effort. All times are listed above. The June meeting will be on the 7th of the month at 6:30 p.m., setting dates for summer camp out and talking about corn roast and rides we might like to take. DON"T FORGET THE RIDE AND GRABS! Don't forget to support the functions of the Post; without them, no US! Rides Safe, Have Fun
